Sauna Room Doors
|
There are two components to a
sauna
that get worn the most -
sauna heaters
and sauna room doors. The sauna door especially can get pretty ratty after the sauna has been used heavily for a few years. The high temperature of the sauna and the constant comings and goings as bathers enter and leave the sauna can be hard on sauna room doors. Particularly around the exposed edges of the door, where it meets the door frame.

There are ways to maintain sauna room doors to ensure they last for a good length of time, this mostly entails ensuring the door is mounted solidly on its hinges. Often the sauna heat will dry the wood so much that the door begins to pull from the brittle door frame. When it pulls like this it fails to close properly and begins hitting the edges of the frame, causing wear and tear on the exposed edges. To fix this problem simply re-mount the sauna room door so it again opens and closes solidly against its frame.
If your existing door is beyond repair, new sauna room doors are available. Many of the newer sauna doors are very attractive, some with large double-pane glass with frosted design patterns. These new doors can add an unique and personal touch to your existing sauna room.
When ordering new sauna room doors be sure to specify whether your existing door is pre-hung with a right hinge or left hinge (determined when facing the door from the outside).
